Volunteers for the National Conference in Dallas are greatly needed; Betsy Cummings is coordinating the effort. Betsy Cummings is looking at additional ways to make this a successful learning experience as well as a social event for the conference attendees. She is working with the local chambers of commerce to schedule potential site tours for major Dallas/Fort Worth tourist attractions for evening outings.

The Lone Star Chapter has denoted a $1000 to the National Conference to aid in conference development and marketing efforts; our chapter logo will be presented on conference literature and posted throughout the conference area. This is a two-fold effort; we are showing our support for the conference and also marketing our chapter to glean potential new members.

APMP National has asked each one of the chapters to revise and update their chapter by-laws; the Lone Star Chapter has completed and submitted our by-laws to National for acceptance.

New board members were nominated and have accepted their positions on the Lone Star Board; each member will serve for a two year period. The new board membership list will be posted on the Lone Star website along with contact information.

There was a great deal of discussion concerning webinars and the ability to reach larger audiences at each of the chapter meetings. Scott Cuppett, the new Chapter Chair, is exploring options.

There were detailed discussions concerning “special chapter training” opportunities in 2012; the Lone Star Chapter is considering offering classes based on specific proposal interests. Specific topics and time-frames are in the works. These classes would be outside of the normal meeting schedule; with a possible all day attendance opportunity. This topic is still in discussion at this time.
